Installation-performance (2019) presented at the KABK graduation show.
Daniele Formica received the Fine Art Bachelor Department Award.
The Yellow 222 banda anniston slim tracksuit from Kappa is sealed in plastic in an attempt to preserve the dead skin, sweat, hair and body particles of the artist. Through a performance that makes use of explicative drawings sealed in plastic, Formica introduces the metaphysic entity they call "BILL", after Tarantino's movie Kill Bill that inspired the buying of the tracksuit in the first place. This entity is made of all the body particles detached from the artist' body, that can be traced back to it. Formica further elaborates on the relation between dispersion and identity, on providing hypothesis on what constitutes the identity of a body and when it's dispersion can be marked as an event in time (the transition between, for instance, a cow and a burger). The performance continues providing witty and provoking questions and on why, when, where, how and what we are, departing from these very crumbling bodies we claim ours.
The installation performance was presented again at Omstand, Arnhem in 2019 and was scheduled to perform for the Friends of S.M.A.K. program in Gent (2021, cancelled because of Covid-19 security measures)
In 2024 the yellow 222 banda anniston slim tracksuit has been unsealed and worn again by the artist in a celebration of their birthday, it is still in their possession up to this day, together with the former plastic involucre and the sealed drawings.
